Designed for leverage and control

The instrument's ergonomic handle is designed to be used with both hands positioned on top, allowing every finger to contribute to a controlled downward scraping stroke. This technique provides greater leverage, improved tactile feedback and more efficient cartilage removal while reducing unnecessary force and helping preserve the subchondral plate.

Downward-angled paddle

Engages the cartilage–subchondral bone interface and facilitates a controlled downward scraping stroke rather than upward levering.

Rounded edges

Smooth lateral edges allow controlled removal of residual cartilage around the anterior, posterior and inferior glenoid rim while minimizing unnecessary gouging.

Broad paddle face

Removes larger areas of cartilage in thin, controlled layers, helping preserve the subchondral plate and create a uniform glenoid surface.

Long, narrow shaft

Improves visualization and access to the inferior glenoid while minimizing obstruction of the surgical field.

Two-handed grip

Designed to maximize leverage, tactile feedback and control for efficient cartilage removal throughout the procedure.

Unlike traditional scraping techniques that rely on upward levering, the Glenoid Cartilage Scraper™ uses a controlled downward scraping motion to engage the cartilage–subchondral bone interface. The result is more precise cartilage removal, improved visualization and greater confidence throughout glenoid preparation.
