Shoulder-Side Entry Glenosphere Inserter
The SEGI® shoulder-side entry glenosphere inserter is a precision-engineered instrument developed to optimize glenosphere implantation during reverse shoulder arthroplasty. Unlike traditional straight-in inserters, the SEGI® introduces the glenosphere from a lateral (side-entry) angle, enabling implantation with minimal retraction and maintaining the arm in a neutral position.
This innovative approach avoids humeral interference during external rotation and provides improved control of glenosphere eccentricity, allowing precise alignment at the desired clock angle. The inserter accommodates both standard and lateralized glenospheres, securing them firmly for impaction or screw-in fixation. Its slim profile enables easy withdrawal from the joint after implantation, minimizing disruption to surrounding tissue.
For everyone involved in the surgical journey — from sales representatives and PAs to first assists and surgeons — the SEGI® has revolutionized the way shoulder surgery is done. We’ve seen the changes and felt the excitement from all sides — because the SEGI® makes surgery so much easier and more efficient, regardless of the complexity of the case.
